CAJUN HAMBURGERS

  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, minced
  • 1/2 cup green onions, optional, chopped
  • 1/2 cup yellow onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped fine or garlic powder to taste
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • Red pepper flakes or seeds, to taste
  • 4 dashes hot sauce
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 6 hamburger buns, toasted
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sour cream
1. Combine the beef, green pepper, onions and garlic in a mixing bowl.

2. Add the oregano, thyme, paprika, red pepper seeds, hot sauce, salt and pepper.

3. Mix until blended. Shape the meat into 6 large patties.

4. Broil, fry, or grill the meat to desired doneness.

5. Place the hamburgers on toasted buns and top with sliced tomatoes and sour cream.

                         Serves 6
