BIG MAMA'S EGG CUSTARD

  • 2-1/3 cups of milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Nutmeg
  • Unbaked pie crust
1. Heat milk and butter in microwave.

2. Beat eggs and sugar until thickened. Slowly add
hot milk and butter while mixing. Add vanilla.

3. Pour into pie crust and sprinkle with nutmeg.

4. Bake in 400 degree oven for 10 minutes. Turn oven down
to 325 degrees and bake an additional 30 minutes.

    ** To omit the crust for custard bowls you will need to place
cups in a pan with a small amount of hot water while baking.
