SHRIMP ETOUFFEE

  • 2 pounds peeled raw shrimp
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, finely chopped
  • 1 bunch celery, chopped
  • 2 bunches green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups water (or chicken broth)
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • Add black pepper to taste.
1. Melt butter in medium to large heavy pot.

2. Add onions, bell pepper, green onions, celery, and garlic. Saute
until tender.

3. Dust with flour and cook for 2 minutes.

4. Add water (or chicken broth) and stir well to break up any lumps.
If needed, add more water or broth to make medium thickness.

5. Add shrimp and seasonings and simmer.
